The
Akron Recreation Bureau will host a FREE Aquafina® Major League Baseball®
Pitch, Hit & Run™ Competition for area youth @
Cascade Valley Park
Saturday, April 12, 2008
Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PMPitch, Hit & Run™ is the Official Skills Competition of
Major League Baseball®. This grassroots program
is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition
that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.
Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the
chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at
Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2008 MLB™ All-Star Game®.
The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around
Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the
Sectional Level of Competition.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form
prior to the start of the competition. For questions concerning the competition, please contact

2008 DAY of CHAMPS games and parade
GIRLS SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES:
Girls Softball Championships games are played in the
morning prior to the Day of Champs parade.
PARADE:
The 2008 WABL Day of Champs parade starts at 11:40
AM from
Summit Christian Church on South Hawkins Ave.,
and goes south down Hawkins Ave. to Perkins Field on
Mull Ave.
Parents that are dropping players off (there is NO
parking allowed in the church lot) should use the
north entrance of the church (nearest to Swensons)
to pull in and need to exit out of the south
entrance of the church (see the
information flyer for more details).

10:45 AM - 11:15 AM Parade Drop-off

11:40 AM Parade Step-off
CEREMONY:
The 2008 WABL Day of Champs ceremony starts at @
